Jean-Michel GRUET was born in Montargis in 1954. He spent his adolescence to read "Pilote" discovering Massonat, Machado, Fred and also Granger.

He published his first drawing in the local newspaper, "L'Eclaireur du Gâtinais", in 1973, Then we met him again in "Antirouille" like draughtsman but like newswonger.

The discovery of Serre influenced his way to draw and involved him to a darker humour. His victory in the amateur competition of the famous Humour Festival of Saint-Just-le-Marlet, permited to him to thing that he has a little of talent and he published his first album "Points de suspension", with a very dark humour. The editors "Cherche-midi" called him to participate to '' Cent dessins pour les droits de l'homme'' (Hundred drawings for the human rights) with Piem and Cabu and others.

Passonate of cycle, he published in 1994 "En cyclopédie", funny journey in the Tour de France.This book permited to him to espose to the start of the Tour 1997 in Rouen and he was remarked by the assocition of sporting journalists, with a lot of expositions, riding federation, Sportel of Monaco, town hall of Paris, etc... And a company of animation is working about an adaption on tv of "En cyclopédie", but hush...

With a Title '' Alors comme ça vous dessinez ! " (Like That you draw!) Gruet has put his drawings made in the 80's & in the 90's. Release in the end of the year.
